Best known as
Simon joined the cast of Casualty in 2002 as Dr Harry Harper, the hospital’s popular clinical lead consultant. He left the show in 2008.
Other memorable appearances
The actor got his big break in 1978 when he was cast in the film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile. He went on to clinch the lead role in 1983’s US adventure series Manimal.
Family life
On 14 October, Simon died in the arms of his second wife, actress Susan George. He was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2006 and discovered it was terminal a year later when it spread to his lungs.
